Dental Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is a special type of X-ray that shows 3D images of dental structures, soft tissues, nerve paths, and bone. It generates less radiation than a traditional CT scan, and it allows us to evaluate diseases of the jaw and dentition.
With digital X-rays, we use digital sensors instead of traditional photographic film. We save time by bypassing chemical processing, and we’re able to immediately enhance images and evaluate potential issues in the mouth.
Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD CAM) technology allows us to improve the design and creation of dental restorations such as crowns, bridges, veneers, and dental implants. Using CAD CAM, we create images of the restoration area and use software to design a prosthesis that is milled in resin by a machine. We then use traditional dental bonding methods to place the restoration into the patient’s mouth.
